What is Cloud Computing?
I know some of us have heard the term “I backed it up in the cloud” and then we look and be like which cloud. Well, this short article is written to give you more insight into what the term “cloud” is in computing.
Cloud computing in simple terms is using someone else’s computer to store or process data rather than using your own local computer. For example, google drive, this is google’s computer where we can store our media files so we can retrieve them later. AWS from Amazon is another form of cloud computing where we can host our sites or programs.
Advantages of Cloud Computing
Cloud computing gives individuals and organizations the ability to backup data and access data from anywhere which makes people able to work remotely and generally make people’s lives easier. We don’t have to worry about losing our pictures when we lose our phones, because of cloud computing.
With everything that is good with cloud computing, there are also disadvantages to it.
Disadvantages of Cloud Computing
The disadvantages of cloud computing can cause concerns in some people. The most concerning thing are security and data confidentiality. This is why data should be backed up with only trusted companies with long records of data security.
