Adaptability

Business conditions, life conditions, all conditions. They all change.

Change is natures determination, metamorphosis, what does not change positively dies.

Yet most struggle to embrace change, new competition, new market regulations, a new class of customer, new mediums. Whatever your field, change must occur, you can choose to be adaptable or you can choose to stop changing (or growing) and die.

For your organization, the stage your organization is in determines how much change you can cope with (this you can scale to yourself). Are you in a Growth Stage, A Harvest/Maturity Stage or A Decline Stage.

I can tell you , you can adapt like this. But really I would focus on three things.

Prepare, See, Act

Be mentally and emotionally prepared for change, it will happen, all businesses have cycles, life has cycles, the weather has cycles.

See it when it comes, don’t be a damn ostrich, study your business, know its cycles, understand its trends and its harbingers.

Act, decisively. Challenge the competitor, innovate, create a new product, push until success.
